Begin Again Next Year?

I am seriously considering starting this blog up again right at the beginning of 2011. It makes sense time wise, starting as a calendar year. If anyone objects, let me know. I'm already so far behind that I can't get caught up. If no one objects, I hope you've enjoyed the faces from this year and we'll see you next year!

Missed 13 Days, Here are 6 from Mike and Mario's Halloween Party!

It's been a busy month. An extremely busy and hectic month with extreme downs but also extreme ups! Looking forward to Halloween! And as you can see, Mike and Mario's Halloween party was a blast. It keeps getting grander every year! Enjoy! Will make up the missing 7 pics as we now have some semblance of our normal lives to live.

Star Wars Day at Zzyzx Café

We had breakfast at one of our favorite breakfast cafés in Camarillo today. They had Star Wars themed food, music and even had the characters there! Above are Carlos and mini Carlos in their Star Wars T-shirts and a pic of CJ with Boba Fett (who is his favorite) and I can't for the life of me remember what the girl's character is. CJ had the Darth Vader Cakes, which were shaped like Darth Vader's head, and had chocolate chips. Carlos and I split an Eggs Obi Wan Kenobi, which was an eggs benedict with pesto on top. It was delish! And garlicky! Alyssa had a Luke Skywalker Ranchburger, which was a burger with onion rings, bacon, BBQ sauce on a ciabatta bun. It came with a cone of delicious fries and ketchup and ranch, which she mixed and made Fancy sauce. lolz. If you're ever in Camarillo, you should try them out, they're regular non Star Wars food is also great! They're right across from the train station.

So we are WAY behind...

It's been extremely busy at the Valdivia household, but that should not be an excuse for not making faces. Too bad, because it IS the excuse! Here is Alyssa, taking her shot at making fun of her Dad's faces...at Souplantation. Enjoy!

Leave Britney Alone or Akward School Photo?

What was the occasion for the fancy backdrop for today's picture? I was folding laundry and lo and behold, folding a white sheet just as Carlos decided to use Photobooth. Yes, I'm behind that sheet, holding it up. Reminds me of going to a one room school house (it was a private school that used the PACE system) and literally taking our school photos with a piece of fabric behind us. It was either a sheet or a big towel. I remember many kids having this same exact expression on their face.

Flashback Face Sunday

This isn't exactly a face, but it's a great pic. This was on the way back from a family trip to Tucson, AZ to visit our good friends Ronnie and Elizabeth. Carlos got this chicken mask from a Tucson Vintage/Thrift store, and he wore it the WHOLE way home. He even fell asleep with this thing on. You can imagine the looks we got into the car from other drivers on that long drive. It was about 6 hours long. And part of the time he was dancing, in the mask. Good times.

Here is Carlos's version of Fire Marshal Bill. This is only the first attempt. He wasn't able to get his teeth dry enough to do it right, so expect at least a second attempt in the future. But I think it's pretty darn good!

Flashback Face Sunday: More Beautiful Kodak Moments Ruined!

First picture is of us at Dick's in Vegas for the Margarito Cotto fight. Notice the Guinness and Heineken. It could have been one of those nice pictures for posterity, but I can already imagine our great great grandchildren asking, "Is there something wrong with our great great grandpa?"

The second one is from CJ's 3rd birthday. "In November drinking horchata..." DidyouseewhatIdidthere? CJ's birthday's in November. It's the first song I heard in my upon looking down from Carlos's face at the cup of horchata there. We went to Santa Barbara for brunch and then went to the zoo. CJ at three years old was already used to these kinds of photos. Just a normal birthday picture with Daddy.

We've been watching the second season of Jersey Shore and have been noticing that Pauly D, one of our favorites on the show because he's so chill, has been looking a little crazy lately. His eyes have been bugging out and he's been more jittery than usual. Carlos was inspired by his face in the Optometrist office when he went with Vinny. Enjoy!
